Corpus Repositories

A Corpus Repository is a place where your corpora will be stored. In Praaline, all recordings (audio and video) and annotations are organised into a Corpus, along with their metadata. Every corpus is stored in a Corpus Repository; the corpora that are stored in the same Corpus Repository share the same structure for their metadata and annotations. Keeping your language resources organised into corpora and repositories means that:

  • A Repository may contain one or more Corpora, all sharing the same template for their metadata and the same structure for their annotations.
  • You can easily follow best practices concerning the organisation of language resources
  • You can store your data on your computer and/or access remote repositories.

In this section, we will see how to create a Corpus Repository that will be stored in a local folder, on your computer.
